Everyone keeps telling me that my second trimester is going to get better…Well, so far, I’m not that impressed. This past week has somehow gotten worse. My nausea has gotten worse than it has ever been. With no warning at all, my meals are being tasted twice… I’m sorry. I know that is not a good image to think about, but it is so true. I know that these are all great symptoms that my pregnancy is moving along well, but can I please get control over my body again??
I have been feeling especially guilty this week too. With every complaint that comes to my mouth, I think to myself “Melissa, you have been through heck and back for 4 years to be able to get pregnant. You should be thankful and not complaining.” It is so true, but it is hard to be thankful and appreciative when you feel so bad. So, I decided to take a different positive approach to this…
My “eyes are on the prize.” This is all just short term. My focus is on bringing my precious babies into this world so that they can meet all of the wonderful people in my life who have been waiting for 4 years for them to arrive. If having two happy and healthy babies means that I have to be uncomfortable for a couple of months, then so be it… It is just short term. Then, I will have a lifetime to spend with my babies and I can have control over my body again (hopefully).
An update for you all as well…We get to find out the sexes of our twins on 8/23. I have posted a quiz so that you can all vote on what you think we will get. Enjoy! Let’s see how many of you are correct!
Thank you all for your prayers as we go through this process. I am so grateful for each of you. I can’t wait for you all to meet our precious little ones!
Pregnancy is tough! (Well, in my opinion anyway!) I don't think complaining about feeling awful makes you any less grateful for the wonderful gift of those babies!! Hang in there and keep your 'eye on the prize'!
ReplyDeleteHang in there Melissa! You are already a great mommy and have a wonderful perspective. Those babies certainly are blessed...and I totally understand not feeling great pregnant! Please call me if you ever need a pep talk or someone to listen. It is tough, but you are right...well worth it! Love you!
